Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Her mother raised her throughout the USA she was subject to numerous racial insults that made her feel being a bit unpopular. In her 9th grade that she gained confidence following her acclaim in an audition. This experience did not just help the confidence of her, but also altered her goals in life. When she was 22, she received her degree from the Julliard School of New York. As she was turning 23 she began her career in Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old she made her film debut in You've Got Mail. But her biggest break came when she appeared in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway production of Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. The recognition grew even more for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. As a well-known singer, she has also released both an album and a musical. Additionally, she works as a LGBT activist.
